Thanks for replying.įirst you might go to Device Manager, right click your device with the yellow exclamation mark in the front and select Update Driver Software then click Search automatically for updated driver software. I can now get online and see the home network, yay! For anyone who does not have a network adapter showing in device manager, just go straight to steps 2 and 3 above to hopefully fix it for you too. Upon rebooting, the system then finally recognized I did indeed have a network adapter and installed the drivers for it. After the light went out on the back of the pc, I waited 30 seconds and plugged the power cord back in and booted up. So then I shutdown and unplugged the power source from my computer.

The device was still not listed in device manager. I ran the XP driver installer for the network adapter after going into properties and clicking the boxes to run in compatibility mode for XP and run as administrator. I uninstalled all of the network adapters that I added through Add Legacy Hardware. Trying to update the drivers for the network adapters I added that way did nothing. The Add Legacy Hardware option wasn't doing anything for me. Hello The network adapter was not listed in device manager at all, that was my original problem.
